Team Leader
Develop the skills to manage teams and projects, providing direction, instructions and guidance to meet the goals of private, public, or voluntary sector organisations.
Overview
A Team Leader is a first-line management role, with operational and project responsibility for managing a team to deliver a clearly defined outcome. They provide direction, instructions, and guidance to ensure the achievement of set goals.
Working across the private, public, or third sector and in organisations of all sizes, key responsibilities typically include supporting, managing, and developing team members, managing projects, planning and monitoring workloads and resources, delivering operational plans, resolving problems, and building relationships internally and externally.
End Point Assessment Components
The EPA for Team Leader consists of two assessment methods designed to test knowledge, skills, and behaviours:
- Duration: 50 minutes (+10% at assessor discretion)

What's Assessed in the EPA
The End Point Assessment evaluates apprentices across Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours as defined by the occupational standard:
Knowledge

- Planning, monitoring, and resourcing workloads

- Support, manage, and develop team members

On-Programme Learning
Full-time apprentices typically spend 12-18 months on-programme (before gateway) working towards the occupational standard, with off-the-job training as per current funding rules.
Gateway
Apprentice, Employer, and Training Provider sign Good2Go's gateway agreement confirming:
- Consistently working at or above the level of the occupational standard
- Achieved English and Maths at Level 2
- Completed a portfolio of evidence
Training Provider uploads to ACE360:
- Proof of Maths and English at Level 2
- Portfolio of evidence
- Gateway agreement
EPA period typically lasts 4 months
Confirmation & Project Title
The apprentice receives email confirmation that their evidence has been uploaded to ACE360, followed shortly after by their project title from Good2Go.
Once the title is received, the apprentice has 2 weeks to return the presentation to Good2Go as per the EPA plan, and must take their EPA within 4 weeks of receiving the title.
Presentation & Professional Discussion
The apprentice undertakes the Professional Discussion (60 minutes) and the Presentation with Questions (50 minutes, typically 20 minutes presentation and 30 minutes questioning).

EPA Results Released
Results are released on ACE360 to the Training Provider within 5-7 working days of completing all assessment components.

Gateway Requirements
Before entering EPA, apprentices must have:
- Completed the on-programme learning and training
- Consistently working at or above the level of the occupational standard
- Achieved English and Maths at Level 2
- Completed a portfolio of evidence
- Employer and training provider sign-off confirming readiness
- Proof of Maths and English at Level 2
- Portfolio of evidence
- Signed Gateway agreement
